Rachel Blum, Principal BI Architect
Rachel Blum
is a Principal Consultant and Business Intelligence Architect with the New York
office of Moore Stephens Business Solutions. Prior to joining Moore Stephens in
2006, Rachel spent 10 years in the business intelligence industry, first as a consultant
specializing in business intelligence within the insurance and financial services
industry, and then as the Vice President of Business Intelligence and Data Architecture
for the retail bank of a large financial services company. Over the course of her
career, Rachel has gained significant expertise in a variety of leading business
intelligence tools and database platforms, as an architect as well as a back and
front-end developer. Rachel has degrees from Columbia University and Brandeis University
and is co-author of "PerformancePoint Server for Dummies."
Mark Chen, Principal BI Architect
Mark Chen is a Principal and Business Intelligence Architect for Moore Stephens
Business Solutions based in the company’s New York City office. His responsibilities
include managing the successful delivery of business intelligence projects for Moore
Stephens clients from both a business and technical approach. Mark came to Moore
Stephens in December 2006, with over 10 years experience in the insurance and insurance
software industry. He began his insurance career as a consultant working on insurance
class action lawsuit systems, demutualizations, marketing within the life insurance
realm, and more recently focusing on property and casualty lines. Throughout his
career, Mark has promoted the use of business intelligence as a key to success.
Mark has a PhD from NYU and an undergraduate degree from Cornell. He has a proven
track record of success in the industry and is the co-author of “PerformancePoint
Server for Dummies.”
John Kneiling, Principal Data Architect
Prior to joining Moore Stephens in 2008, John was a leading independent Business
Intelligence Data Architect designing Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse systems
for the Insurance and Financial Services sectors. As Vice President of Information
Architecture for MetLife, he played a leading role in the transformation of a post-IPO
MetLife by presiding over the integration of strategic operational and business
intelligence systems acquired by an aggressive merger and acquisition strategy.
He has played an influential role and in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
as Managing Director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, co-founder of SDLC Technologies
in Canada, Senior Consultant with DataBase Associates, President of DAMA New York,
and as a founding employee of Codd & Date consulting, originators of the Relational
Model. His seminars are presented annually in Rome, and his articles on Business
Intelligence and related topics have been published internationally.
